One of the most popular services at our Cape Coral office are dermal fillers. Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid, a hydrating substance naturally found in your own body. As we age, we lose our natural stores of hyaluronic acid, which causes our skin to lose volume, wrinkle, and become hollow-looking. Fillers can be used in the areas of the face where additional volume is desired- for fuller lips, lip lines, cheeks, jaw, marionette lines, under eyes, nose, hands and more. Fillers are injected beneath the skin with a small needle.

We specialize in fillers, and carry a full line of dermal fillers from Allergan, Revanesse, Galderma, Merz and Teoxane. Our highly trained Nurse Practitioners and Physicians Assistants will help you select the right filler for your specific needs and give you a natural, refreshed appearance.

Prior to treatment we apply prescription strength topical cream and/or a local anesthetic injection to numb the area for your comfort. Pro-Nox 50% nitrous oxide/50% oxygen analgesic can also be added to your treatment to alleviate pain and anxiety.

PRE TREATMENT CARE:

  • Take oral arnica to help minimize bruising and swelling, start at least 2 days prior.
  • Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, if possible for 1 week before treatment.
  • Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to special events such as a wedding or a vacation.
  • If you have a history of cold sores take anti-viral medication prior to treatment.
  • Make sure you are well hydrated and have ate the day of your appointment, this will decrease the chances of lightheadedness during your treatment.

POST TREATMENT CARE:

  • Avoid significant movement or massage of the treated area.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
  • Avoid extensive sun or heat for 72 hours.
  • Avoid consuming excess amounts of alcohol or salts.
  • If you have swelling you may apply a cool compress for 15 minutes each hour.
  • Try to sleep face up and slightly elevated if you experience swelling.
  • Use Tylenol for discomfort.
  • Take oral arnica tablets to help with bruising and swelling.

Yes, dermal fillers are safe. They are made of hyaluronic acid a natural molecule that exists in the body.

Dermal fillers are regulated and approved by the US Food & Drug Administration. Fillers create lift, add volume and restore a more youthful appearance to certain areas of the face and body that show signs of aging.

We use only FDA approved dermal fillers that have been manufactured and sold for use in the United States. The FDA closely monitors Dermal Filler manufacturers and requires them to report adverse events. We purchase our fillers directly from the manufacturer. We know our dermal fillers meet strict US pharmaceutical manufacturing standards.

Please beware of injectors who use injectables purchased from outside the US. It is illegal and puts you at risk. There is no way to know if the products are real or counterfeit. The products are often contaminated or expired. Ask yourself,- if your injector is willing to break the law and risk losing their license to make a few bucks, what else are they willing to do? Don’t risk your health to save a few dollars. Beauty isn’t worth your health and life.

Getting filler is a little uncomfortable, but at the Skin Spot Laser Club we use a variety tools to make your treatment more comfortable.

We use maximum strength prescription numbing cream, anesthetic injections, distraction tools and ice rollers for your comfort.

Most of our clients say that our numbing cream works so well they don’t need anything else for pain, but we do offer Pro-Nox (laughing gas) for a small fee as needed.

It depends! Each dermal filler is different. While most are made of hyaluronic acid, they are not all the same. Each filler has been designed for a specific area and purpose.

Some fillers are softer, designed for softer areas like the lip, while others may be firmer for areas like the cheek.

We carry a full line dermal fillers. Our experienced injectors will evaluate your facial anatomy and choose the dermal filler product that is right for you.

Bruising is possible. Some areas of the face bruise more easily than other areas and bruising may depend on your age, health, lifestyle and medications you are taking.

Lip may be swollen but nursing is not as likely. Bruising is more common in areas around the mouth, like marionette lines.

To minimize risk of bruising do not consume alcohol 24 hours prior or after, do not take aspirin, ibuprofen or exercise strenuously before or after treatment.

Ice the treated area to minimize bruising and take oral arnica before and after treatment if you are prone to bruising.

If you do end up with a bruise, don’t worry, we can treat it with our IPL Laser to help it go away more quickly. There is no charge for this service.
