Here’s how to check if your products contain pore-clogging ingredients! Keep in mind that “clean” and “organic” don’t always mean acne-safe. To make it easy, we’ve created a pore-clogging ingredient checker. Simply copy and paste the product’s full ingredient list into our scanner and compare it with the master list below. Get your results in under 2 minutes!
Natural oils can sometimes be the biggest culprits—cocoa butter and coconut oil, often found in “organic” skincare lines, are prime examples.
Other oils like jojoba, olive, and lanolin are mildly comedogenic and may cause issues when combined with other pore-clogging ingredients.
Even some prescription products, such as the cream form of Retin-A, and many over-the-counter acne medications, contain pore-clogging ingredients.
Don’t be fooled by “oil-free” labels; these products can still be comedogenic.
