Cosmelan® MD is a unique combination of 57 highly effective ingredients that remove the accumulation of melanin and inhibit the formation of new spots. The Cosmelan® method consists of 4-phases. Phase 1 is an intense prescription depigmentation mask applied in our office. You will leave our office wearing the mask with directions on how and when to remove the mask. The mask may be worn 6-10 hours depending on the severity of your pigmentation and your skin type. If your treatment is in the evening, you may be instructed to wear the mask overnight.

You will leave our office with a complete Cosmelan® MD home care kit to complete phase 2, 3, and 4. These products will continue to provide improvement with continuous depigmentation, hyperpigmentation regulation and will help prevent reappearance. Cosmelan® MD’s professional in office treatment combined with Cosmelan® MD Home Care Kit provides higher efficacy, greater comfort during treatment, and lower risk of repigmentation. Compliance with the home care schedule is critical for immediate and long lasting results.

How does Cosmelan® MD work?

Enhanced by multiple high potency skin exfoliating and lightening agents, Cosmelan® MD peel stimulates cell turnover and exfoliates the upper surface of the skin to lift existing pigmentation, irregularities or blemishes. At the same time, the lightning agents continue to inhibit discolored pigmentation at the dermal level to equalize skin tone.

Is Cosmelan® MD safe for your skin tone? 

The Cosmelan® MD is designed for all skin types including dark skin types who are at a higher risk of hyperpigmentation from laser, IPL or traditional peels.

This product includes prescription strength hydroquinone, a dermatologist-recommended ingredient to safely fade dark spots.

How many treatments will I need to get rid of my dark spots?

Most patients experience significant lightening in one session. Patients must complete phase 2,3, and 4 at home with the included post care kit, a touch up session *if required is also included in the treatment price.
