Pre Treatment Care:
- Take oral arnica to help minimize bruising and swelling, start at least 2 days prior.
- Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, if possible for 1 week before treatment.
- Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to special events such as a wedding or a vacation.
- If you have a history of cold sores take anti-viral medication prior to treatment.
- Make sure you’re well hydrated and have eaten the day of your appointment, this will decrease the chances of lightheadedness during your treatment.
Post Treatment Care:
- Avoid picking and manipulating the suture at the procedure site. This can cause more bruising, infection, the perforation of the suture through the surface of the skin or the disjunction of the suture to the skin and muscle.
- Avoid direct heat such as laser treatment such as IPL or laser hair removal for at least a month.
- Avoid bathing, shower instead for one week following your procedure.
- Avoid excessive exercise/sport for one week following your procedure.
- For bruises apply cold compresses gently to the area.
- Oral arnica or vitamin K may be applied after procedure for 5-7 days for bruising and swelling as needed.
- Take Tylenol for pain, especially at bed, during the first few days.
